Recommended One-Day Itinerary from Sapporo
8:30 AM – Depart from Sapporo
Start your journey with a scenic drive along the expressway to Yoichi.

9:30 AM – Space Apple Yoichi
Take a short break before continuing your drive along the breathtaking Shakotan coastline, with the famous Shakotan Blue Sea on your right as you head toward Cape Kamui.

10:45 AM – Cape Kamui
Walk the approximately 20-minute Charenka Trail, a scenic path surrounded by spectacular views of the Sea of Japan. At the tip of the cape, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Shakotan coastline.

11:30 AM – Lunch: Fresh Sea Urchin Rice Bowl (Uni Don)
It’s time to enjoy one of Hokkaido’s greatest delicacies. During the summer peak season, many of the area’s popular restaurants do not accept reservations, so it’s a good idea to choose your preferred restaurant in advance. Be prepared for queues at the most famous spots!

One of the highlights of any visit to Shakotan, Shimamui Coast is renowned for its stunning Shakotan Blue waters and has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Best Beaches. A truly unforgettable viewpoint.

3:00 PM – Explore Otaru
On your way back to Sapporo, stop in the charming port town of Otaru. Stroll along the historic Otaru Canal, capture memorable photos and browse the shops and cafés on Sakaimachi Street.
