Recommended Itinerary from Sapporo
08:30 — Depart Sapporo
Leave Sapporo and travel west along the expressway towards Yoichi, making the most of the morning.
09:30 — Space Apple Yoichi
A convenient opportunity to take a short break before continuing towards the tip of the Shakotan Peninsula.
From here, enjoy the ever-changing coastal scenery, with the brilliant blue waters of the Sea of Japan stretching out beside you as you make your way towards Cape Kamui.
10:45 — Cape Kamui
Follow the Charenka Trail, a scenic walking path surrounded by spectacular views of the Sea of Japan.
After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach the tip of Cape Kamui, where sweeping views extend across the Shakotan coastline in almost every direction.
Few places in Hokkaido offer such a dramatic combination of rugged cliffs, deep blue water and open sky.
11:30 — Time for Sea Urchin
Now for one of Shakotan’s signature culinary experiences: fresh local sea urchin.

Continue to Shimamui Coast, one of the Shakotan Peninsula’s most spectacular viewpoints.

It is an essential stop for anyone wishing to experience the legendary beauty of Shakotan Blue.
15:00 — Explore Otaru
On the way back to Sapporo, take the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stop in Otaru.
Take photographs along the historic Otaru Canal, browse the charming shops and cafés of Sakaimachi Street, or simply enjoy a relaxed stroll through this elegant port town.
17:00 — Arrive in Sapporo
